Adam W. Alexander

July 29, 1875 – March 3, 1949

NILES – Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m Saturday in the Pifer funeral Home for Adam W. Alexander 73, who died at his home on South Clark Street at 7 p.m. Thursday. He had been ill since First of November.

Born in Woodbury, TN, on July 29, 1875, he came here 25 years ago and was engaged in the trucking business.

Surviving are his wife, Luella; a son, Ray of Niles; four daughters, Mrs. W. M. Mahaffa and Mrs. Earl Haley of Niles, Mrs. Lonnie Eaton of Manchester, TN, and Mrs. Leon Hoyt of Detroit; six stepchildren, Mrs. Elsie Dubus of Niles, Mrs. Blanche Dinges of Galien, Mrs. Evelyn Gastiax of Detroit, Mrs. Joyce Null of South Bend; Peter Blanta Jr.  who is in Alaska with the Army and Robert Blanta of Norway, MI.

Two brothers also survive, Granville of Ft. Worth, TX and Allen of Woodbury, TN.

Funeral services will be conducted by the Rev. Roy Burgess pastor of the South Bend Church of Christ and burial will be at Silverbrook Cemetery. Friends may call at the home until noon Saturday.
