George J. Haslanger, 79 of 3240 Detroit Road, died at 11:50 p.m. Tuesday in Pawating Hospital following a three-year period of poor health. He was a retired farmer.

Haslanger was born April 27, 1877, in Wurtenberg, Germany and came to Niles 36 years ago from Galien.  Surviving are: his wife, Elsie; two sons, Clarence and Homer Haslanger, both of Niles; a daughter, Mrs. Grant Moore, of Niles; eight grandchildren; two great grandchildren, and three sisters, Mrs. Emma House, of Niles, Mrs. Mary McGawn, of Galien, and Mrs. Sophia Nieb, of Santa Ana, Calif.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in the Pifer Funeral Home with the Rev. Donald Tepe, pastor of the Union Protestant Church officiating. Burial will be in Silverbrook cemetery.

Funeral services were held today for in the Fifer[sic] Funeral Home here for George J. Haslanger, 79, of 3240 Detroit Road, who died Tuesday in Pawating Hospital.  The Rev. Joseph Lindsay, retired pastor of the Union Protestant Church at Daily officiated and burial was in Silverbrook Cemetery.
