GEORGE WALTERS, ELKS CLUB CUSTODIAN, DIES
Passes Away at Pokagon Street Home at Early Hour

George Walters, 41, custodian of the Niles lodge of Elks club for 13 years, died this morning at 2 o'clock in his home 521 Pokagon street. He has been in ill health for several years and in a serious condition for several months.

Mr. Walters was born in Niles on March 3, 1892, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Christian Walters. He father died on June 17, 1917. He had spent his entire life in Niles. He was married on Jan. 10, 1916, to Emma Miller of Niles, a daughter of William Miller. Mr. Walters is survived by the widow, Mrs. Emma Miller Walters, a son, Malcolm, 16, a student in the Niles high school, a daughter, Mildred, 12, his mother, Mrs. Christian Walters of Niles, one brother, Clarence Walters of Berrien Springs and a sister, Mrs. H.A. Gridley of Niles. A sister of Mrs. Christian Walters died three weeks ago today in her home.

Mr. Walters was a member of the Niles lodge of Elks and of St. Joseph Valley lodge, F. & A. M.

The funeral services will be held on Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 at the Price & Kiger funeral home. Burial will be made in Silverbrook cemetery. Friends will be received at the funeral home.

Niles News in Brief: FUNERAL GEORGE WALTERS

The funeral services for George Walters will be read at the Price and Kiger Funeral home tomorrow afternoon at 2:30 by Charles Kitterer of the First Church of Christ, Scientist. The Niles lodge of Elks will have charge of the committal service in Silverbrook cemetery.
