J.H. ROSENBERGER, OLD RESIDENT, DIES
Member of Pioneer Family Passes After Illness of Three Months

    John H. Rosenberger, 67, lifelong resident of Berrien county, nad one of Niles' widely known citizens, died at 12:30 o'clock Sunday afternoon in his home, 916 Regent street.
    Mr. Rosenberger was stricken with a heart ailment July 3 and failed to rally from the effects.  His death was attributed to an aorta tumor.
    A descendant of pioneer parents he was born south of Niles June 9, 1870.  For many years prior to his illness he operated his own dray service.
    Fond of Animals
    Fond of animals, he continued to use horses when other draymen turned to trucks.  Mr. Rosenberger was a member of the Presbyterian church, and one of the oldest members of the Niles lodge of Modern Woodmen of America.
    During his 40 years as a member of the order, he held the head chair of venerable counsel for 18 consecutive years.
    Mr. Rosenberger was twice married, the second time to the former Carrie Francis to whom he was married Dec. 8 1903.
    Services Tuesday
    He leaves his wife, one son, Floyd, Niles; two brothers, William, South Bend, and Byron, Bertrand; also four grandchildren, Mrs. Ilene Quick, Audrey and Ethelyn Rosenberger, all of Niles, and John F. Rosenberger, South Bend.  Another son, Vernon, died in 1927.
    The body was taken to the Rutherford funeral home where friends may call.
    The Rev. Guy W. Simon of the First Presbyterian church will conduct services at 2:30 o'clock Tuesday afternoon in the funeral home.  Burial will be in Silverbrook cemetery.

John H. Rosenberger Services Held Today

    Final rites for John H. Rosenberger, lifelong resident of this vicinity, were held at 2:30 o'clock this afternoon in the Rutherford funeral home.
    The Rev. Guy W. Simon of the Presbyterian church, of which Mr. Rosenberger was a member, conducted the services, followed by burial in Silverbrook cemetery.
    Thomas Trattles, George, Eisele, Harvey Rumbaugh, Z.T. Baker, Henry Starke and Joseph Cain served as pallbearers.
    Mr. Rosenberger died Sunday at his home, 916 Regent street, at the age of 67.  His death was attributed to an aorta tumor and followed a three months' illness.
