Mrs. Emily R. Young, 95 former Niles resident, died at 12:40 a.m. Tuesday in Detroit following an illness of three years.
Mrs. Young was born March [2?], 1858, in Iowa. Her family pioneered in North Dakota in the 1880's and came to Michigan in the early 1890's. Mrs. Young was a member of the First Presbyterian Church here. She moved to Detroit to make her home with her daughter following the death of her husband, Eli Young, in 1924.
She is survived by: her daughter, Mrs. William Dove of Detroit; a son Orville Young of South Bend; five grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday in the First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Chester Wetzel, assistant pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Silverbrook Cemetery. Friends may call at the Kiger funeral home Thursday evening.
