Remains of Former Niles Boy Brought Here for Burial

The remains of Harry[sic] A. Armstrong, a former well known Niles boy, were brought to Niles last evening from Chicago and taken directly to Silver Brook cemetery where they reposed until this afternoon when burial took place. Rev. H.C. Trabert of the Baptist church conducted the committal services.

The young man, who was 23 years of age, was the only son of his widowed mother, Mrs. Lillian A. Armstrong of Chicago, formerly of Niles and a grandson of Mrs. M.H. Armstrong of this city.

The young man had been employed as a switchman for the Chicago, Milwaukee & St. Paul railroad company since going to Chicago a few years ago. In April he fell in such a manner that the lantern which he held in his hand penetrated through the flesh of the abdomen. Complications followed which made an operation imperative.

The operation was successful but the patient ventured out too soon and caught a cold which developed into pneumonia and caused his death.

The grief stricken mother was accompanied to Niles by five young men friends of her son, who acted as pallbearers.
